Saving money with SvSAN and AMD

Last week, we announced that SvSAN is now certified with AMD EPYC™ 7000 processors.

We’re really excited about working with AMD to make storage as simple and cost effective as possible. The joint solution from StorMagic and AMD lets edge and small datacenters affordably optimize their storage environments and add data security while ensuring uptime and performance.

The offering is compatible with any commodity x86 server and all standard memory and storage configurations and is easy to scale, making it the perfect solution for SME datacenters, edge sites, and remote and branch offices, as it enables as much flexibility as you need to scale your sites with your workload.

StorMagic SvSAN provides FIPS 140-2 compliant encryption via the SvSAN data encryption feature. Encryption keys can be stored anywhere, allowing edge sites to be protected from physical security threats. It integrates seamlessly with AMD’s AES hardware and accelerates encryption computations for improved performance. Lightweight, secure storage, running on high performance core processors, at an incredibly low price point.

SvSAN licenses running on AMD EPYC 7000 Series processors are available to purchase from StorMagic resellers on servers including Cisco, Dell EMC, HPE and SuperMicro. Pricing for a complete two-server solution with SvSAN begins at $15,000.

Speaking about the joint solution, Bruce Kornfeld (CMO and GM, Americas) said “Together, StorMagic and AMD offer customers high core density in a lightweight footprint that optimizes the overall environment at one of the lowest price points available. Our software-based approach effectively addresses a diverse set of business dilemmas by ensuring application uptime, data security and high performance.”
