The New Features of SvHCI 2.0

1. VM-level Snapshots
The new snapshots feature in StorMagic SvHCI provides crash-consistent recovery, with a maximum of 16 virtual machine (VM) snapshots retained for each VM. You can use snapshots to create a point-in-time (PIT) copy of data and capture the operating system, software application, or disk state. These snapshots preserve records as a key part of the backup and recovery process.
With snapshots, VM disk data and virtual machine configuration settings are retained, enabling rollbacks to a previous point-in-time for quick recovery. Snapshots are useful for remediation in cases of accidental deletion, data loss, corruption, or malicious attacks.
2. Edge Control, Our Cloud-based Management Interface
You can manage SvHCI with Edge Control, our cloud-based management interface. It provides a single console for managing the entire stack of SvHCI clusters within your organization.
Accessible from any web browser, you can monitor and manage SvHCI from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Edge Control serves as an inventory for clusters, nodes, and virtual machines, offering features like filters, sorting, and keyword search.
It helps your users quickly identify faults or failures, access individual server configuration data, and launch into a server’s local web interface. This simple solution offers an easy-to-use interface, making it straightforward to manage all elements of SvHCI.
3. VM Import from VMware Environments to SvHCI Infrastructure
The new VM Import Wizard functionality offers a wizard-based process for importing VMs from VMware to SvHCI, enabling direct pairing with VMware vCenter Server to streamline the selection and management of VMs to be imported.
4. Stretched Cluster Support
You can separate SvHCI nodes geographically to enhance resiliency. These nodes can be placed in different racks, separate rooms, or buildings, and even across an entire city.
5. High Availability Updates
In addition to our existing high availability (HA) capabilities, you can now protect up to 50 VMs with HA per cluster. There’s also extended support for Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC).
