Q&A With Our New Global SVP of Sales, Scott Mann

Our new Global SVP of Sales, Scott Mann, is here to share more about his background, what drew him to StorMagic, and where he sees the biggest opportunities ahead.

Q: Welcome to StorMagic! Can You Briefly Share Your Background and What Led You to This Next Chapter?

I’ve spent my career building and scaling global sales and channel organizations, working across North America, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM in leadership roles that focused on partner growth, go-to-market strategy, and building strong teams. What led me to StorMagic was the combination of a clear market need, a compelling product, and a team that’s genuinely passionate about solving real customer problems at the edge. It felt like the right next chapter and an opportunity to apply my experience in a focused, high-impact environment while helping StorMagic scale its global presence.

Q: How Would You Describe Your Sales Leadership Philosophy?

I think of sales leadership as equal parts coaching, alignment, and execution. My job is to set a clear direction, remove obstacles, and make sure the team has what it needs to succeed. From the right messaging and partners to the right metrics and support. I’m hands-on when it matters, but I try to lead in a way that gives people ownership and confidence. When teams feel trusted and supported, they tend to move faster, collaborate better, and deliver more consistent results.

Q: What Attracted You to Join StorMagic at this Stage?

What attracted me to StorMagic at this stage is the combination of real-world relevance and momentum. StorMagic is solving practical problems for customers at the edge, and it’s doing so with a product that partners genuinely believe in and enjoy taking to market. This feels like a moment where the foundation is in place, and the focus shifts to amplifying impact, i.e., deepening partner relationships, expanding globally, and making it easier for customers to succeed. I saw a chance to come in, roll up my sleeves, and help turn that momentum into sustained, scalable growth.

Q: What Strategic Opportunities Do You Believe the Company Is Well Positioned to Pursue?

I see a strong opportunity for StorMagic to lean into being the practical choice for organizations that need edge infrastructure to “just work.” As customers look to modernize without adding complexity, there’s room to help them simplify operations, reduce risk, and move faster. Particularly in remote and resource-constrained environments. 

IT Teams everywhere are facing the rising costs and availability of hardware and servers. StorMagic is a hardware-agnostic solution that can run on new OR existing x86 servers, which protects budgets and allows more freedom and flexibility for customers.

I also see opportunity in expanding how we enable partners to lead with confidence, whether that’s through migration use cases, repeatable solutions, or tighter collaboration across regions. Done well, this allows StorMagic to grow its footprint while staying close to the real challenges customers face every day.

In addition to the broader edge opportunity, I see significant momentum around customers actively looking for practical alternatives to traditional virtualization platforms. Many organizations are being forced to rethink their infrastructure strategy and are looking for solutions that are simpler, more predictable, and better aligned to edge and distributed environments. StorMagic is well-positioned to support those conversations by offering a purpose-built platform that meets customers where they are, without forcing unnecessary complexity. Combined with strong partner enablement, this creates a real opportunity to help customers move forward with confidence while expanding our footprint globally.

 Q: You’ve Worked Across Different Parts of the Infrastructure and Virtualization Market. How Has That Experience Shaped Your Perspective Coming into StorMagic?

Working across different parts of the infrastructure and virtualization market has given me a deep appreciation for how varied customer needs really are. I’ve seen firsthand that what works at scale in centralized environments often breaks down at the edge, where simplicity, reliability, and ease of operation matter far more than feature depth. Coming into StorMagic, that experience reinforces the importance of staying close to real-world use cases, enabling partners to lead confidently and deliver solutions that solve problems. 

 Q: What Are Your Top Priorities in Your First 90 Days? (Or) First 12 Months?

 In my first 90 days, my priority is to listen and learn. I’ll be spending time with the team, partners, and customers to understand what’s working, where we can move faster, and where we can remove friction. I want to get close to the field, understand regional dynamics, and make sure we’re aligned on the opportunities that matter most right now.

Over the first 12 months, the focus shifts to scale: strengthening our partner ecosystem, sharpening how we show up in key markets, and putting in place repeatable motions that help the team win consistently. The goal is to build momentum without losing what makes StorMagic effective.

Q: How Do You Plan to Empower and Develop Sales Leaders Across Multiple Regions?

I believe empowering sales leaders starts with clarity and trust. Each region has its own dynamics, so my first step is understanding what motivates and challenges the leaders on the ground. From there, I focus on giving them the tools, support, and autonomy to make decisions while holding to clear priorities and measurable outcomes. Coaching, regular feedback, and sharing best practices across regions are key. The goal is to create leaders who feel confident, accountable, and equipped to grow their teams and drive results, without being micromanaged.

Q: How Do You Think Customer Expectations Are Changing in Our Industry?

Customer expectations are increasingly focused on speed, simplicity, flexibility, and predictability. They don’t just want technology that works; they want solutions that fit into their day-to-day operations without creating extra complexity or risk. That means vendors and partners need to understand their realities, help them move faster, and provide ongoing guidance throughout the lifecycle. In short, customers are looking for partners who make their infrastructure easier to manage, not just more powerful.

Q: Looking Ahead to the Rest Of 2026, What Opportunities Do You See For StorMagic and for the Broader Market?

Looking ahead, I see a significant opportunity for StorMagic to help organizations simplify and modernize their edge infrastructure, especially as IT teams face rising hardware costs and supply challenges. Because StorMagic is hardware-agnostic, we can deliver reliable, predictable solutions without locking customers into expensive or constrained platforms. The broader market is growing rapidly, with more distributed workloads and constrained IT resources, so solutions that are simple to deploy and operate will stand out. For StorMagic specifically, this creates a chance to expand globally, deepen partner-led adoption, and position the platform as the practical, “go-to” choice for customers who need friction-free edge infrastructure.

Q: What’s The Best Leadership Advice You’ve Received and Still Use Today?

One piece of leadership advice that’s stuck with me is: “Lead with curiosity, not ego.” It’s a reminder to listen first, ask questions, and understand what’s really happening before jumping in with solutions. I still use it every day when coaching teams, working with partners, or tackling complex challenges. It helps build trust, encourages collaboration, and often uncovers better ideas than I would have thought of on my own.

Q: What Message Would You Like to Share with Our Customers, Partners, Employees, and Shareholders as You Begin This Journey?

I’m excited to join StorMagic at a time when the company has real momentum and a clear opportunity to make edge infrastructure simpler and more reliable for customers. My focus is on enabling our teams and partners to succeed, helping customers solve their toughest challenges, and ensuring that every decision drives practical, lasting value. I look forward to working closely with everyone who’s a part of our ecosystem to turn opportunity into tangible results while keeping things simple and predictable. 

Q: Outside Of Work, What Fun/Weekend Activities Help You Recharge?

Outside of work, I recharge on the golf course, experimenting (sometimes successfully!) in the kitchen, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills (NFL), a team I have loyally followed for years. I also enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring new recipes, which gives me a fun balance to the fast-paced work week.
