StorMagic Completes 14 Strategic Integrations to Add Further Flexibility to SvKMS Encryption Key Management

Backup, Database, IaaS and Storage Integrations with AWS, Azure, Google, Commvault IBM and Veritas Unlock Powerful Data Protection for StorMagic Customers

BRISTOL, England – 02 October, 2020 – StorMagic®, simplifying storage and security from the edge to the core, is announcing the completion of testing and integration with several partners to enhance its SvKMS encryption key management offering. Added to expand third party encryption key management options for major encryption use cases, StorMagic SvKMS leverages bring-your-own-key (BYOK) capabilities and the key management interoperability protocol (KMIP) standard to offer customers a new range of data protection options for backup, database, infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and storage.

Data protection is becoming increasingly critical, and data-at-rest is particularly vulnerable to attacks. Encryption is a key feature of data security, and while more vendors are building it into their offerings today, encryption solutions often require a third party key manager. StorMagic SvKMS allows customers to create, manage and safeguard any type of encryption key from a single, centralized key manager. This allows users to manage all of the encryption keys throughout their organization to simplify administration.

Adding interfaces like KMIP, BYOK and a RESTful API expands StorMagic’s encryption ecosystem with an open, easy-to-integrate platform. SvKMS is now compatible with the following options to extend its flexibility:

  • Backup KMIP integrations include Commvault and Veritas
  • Database KMIP integrations include IBM DB2, MariaDB, MongoDB and MySQL
  • IaaS integrations include Amazon Web Services S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google GCP for BYOK; and OpenStack
  • Storage & Virtual Machine KMIP integrations include NetApp, Nutanix, vSAN and VMware vSphere
  • Full details of all SvKMS integrations available here.

“StorMagic continues to deliver on an aggressive roadmap for SvKMS as we expand our reach in the security market,” said Bruce Kornfeld, chief marketing and product officer, StorMagic. “By integrating with industry-leading hardware and software offerings, we’re giving our joint customers the peace of mind that they have control of their data and that it will be secure. Our enterprise key manager now works seamlessly with all of the major cloud providers and many leading database and storage products on the market.”
