WST Präzisionstechnik chooses StorMagic to ensure 100% uptime across two locations

Business Challenge:

WST Präzisionstechnik GmbH is a leading manufacturer of milled and turned parts and supplies in the German market. It specializes in the production of synchronous machining tools, producing 25 million parts in 1,500 custom designs annually.

WST previously used DataCore SANsymphony to store application data from key IT sources, including its CRM, SQL databases, file services, telecommunication systems, terminal/remote desktop services, and access control and employee time recording systems.

The changing demands and data growth anticipated on original DataCore infrastructure were becoming far too expensive for the customer, and didn’t meet budgets. Price and performance were no longer satisfactory for WST. The customer also wanted an all-flash disk system for better performance and future-proofing. In order to stay within budget, WST began to look for alternatives. They were looking for a solution that would reduce current and future licensing costs, be leaner in administration, and at the same time provide high availability for two of their production facilities.

Solution:
