PraxisIFM is an independent, owner-managed financial services group of companies providing a wide range of professional services to individuals, families and international corporate clients. The rapidly growing organization began to experience challenges with their outdated storage system.
The traditional SAN they previously used to protect financial data didn’t offer enough performance, and failures were impacting business operations. It was configured for asynchronous replication, which presented a high risk for data loss. They consulted Alternative Solutions, a leading IT services company, for recommendations to update their environment.
PraxisIFM installed SvSAN as a highly available two-node storage-only cluster for two locations, one in Guernsey and the other in Jersey, both self-governing British Crown dependencies. PraxisIFM deployed the nodes in a stretch cluster configuration, in two datacentres that are approximately 30 miles apart. The SvSAN solution is provisioning storage to 16 HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 servers running 200 Hyper-V virtual machines for applications including file data, SQL databases, Citrix desktop applications for 600 users.

The storage infrastructure supports locations and users in Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man, UK, Netherlands, Malta, USA, UAE and soon Hong Kong and BVI.
